Jeff Gordon’s 2006 No. 24 DuPont Monte Carlo race car and a 2000 Monte Carlo, were sold at auction during Saturday’s Barrett-Jackson Collection Car auction. Together the cars brought in $350,000 and the money will benefit Drive to End Hunger.
Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports, donated the limited edition 2000 Monte Carlo that features Jeff Gordon’s signature.
Ron Pratte, car enthusiast, donated the 2006 Monte Carlo.
Both cars were designed by Jeff Gordon Chevrolet in Wilmington, N.C.
Also at the Barrett Jackson auction were Rusty Wallace and Kurt Busch. Wallace’s car went for $200,000 (2012 Ford Mustang GT he built) to benefit the NASCAR Foundation and a 1969 Ford Bronco sold for $500,000 to benefit the Armed Forces Foundation (Kurt Busch is one of their spokespersons).
