Is this Feud Over and Has a New Feud Started?

"Car Racing dot com logo"Good day race fans, this is Anthony and this is my view from the “couch”. After two exciting weeks of plenty or NASCAR drama, then a weekend off with no NASCAR, I am craving some more NASCAR drama. Where do we start, the large paper clip in Martinsville always has drivers leaving that race hot, and after the past 2 races some drivers are going into Martinsville hot. Is the Logano-Hamlin feud over, and will Tony Stewart get even with Logano’s water bottle? Will we see Gordon and Boywer revive their Feud where it began a year ago?

My view from the couch is mixed about the Logano and Hamlin feud; I believe Logano did a great job of getting in Hamlin’s head all day at California. I do believe Logano was racing for the win in turn 4, and if he wasn’t going to win he wouldn’t let Hamlin win either, but when there is an injury or a scary crash Feuds have a tendency of calming down, just like Carl Edward crashed Brad Keselowski at Atlanta in 2010. We all wish Denny Hamlin a quick and health recovery also, but I do believe this feud is over just as quickly as it started.

What is the next upcoming feud going into Martinsville? I do wonder if Tony Stewart will get even with that pesky water bottle. I am a fan of Tony Stewart and at times he can be a great ambassador for NASCAR, but these crazy outbursts from a veteran in this sport to act the way he did is surprising. Tony did not have the car to win the race, if he was able to pass Logano and take the lead after turn 2 would he have blocked the rest of the competitors for the win like he did in Talladega last fall. Did Michael Waltrip get out of his car in Talladega and run around and call Tony Stewart a witch (switch the w for a b) and start pushing and running after Tony after the Talladega race? None of the competitors did that afternoon. What was the real meaning behind his motives? He didn’t get really upset until Logano threw the water bottle he said in an interview… HMM, can we get a water bottle sponsor on one of these cars quickly? Is this a new feud or is this over with already? This one is intriguing.

I do believe the true feud after the California race should be between NASCAR, the teams and the drivers feuding against track owners and track promoters. In this day and age when it seems that cars can wreck everywhere and anywhere on the track; as in some cases where the cars are trying to fly off the track and wreck, that there is no safer barriers on every wall on the outside wall and the inside walls. Can track owners and promoters put a price on the safety of its drivers in all the different series of racing on a track and even more the fans that come out and pay the money to see these races? I do believe NASCAR should mandate that all tracks comply with the safety needed for their drivers or remove the track from the schedule.

Feuds are good for the sport, everybody loves drama, reality TV is addicting, and I do enjoy it, but nobody wants to see injuries. Whose turn is it this week? Somebody is going to leave Martinsville UNHAPPY, I can see the Bowyer and Gordon Feud comes back to life; now that tandem is like the Hatfield’s and the McCoy’s. Good luck to the drivers this week and the beaten and banging at Martinsville.

Lagano needs to learn from new Teammate to payback old Teammate

"Lagano needs to learn from new Teammate"By Anthony Quintana

Good day to all the fans, this is Anthony and I am writing this from “The Couch”. This week’s news besides a great Bristol race is the feud between old teammates Denny Hamlin and Joey Lagano. Denny moved Joey out of the way with just over 150 laps left in the race, which left the rear deck lid and rear panel of Joey’s car damaged, but the 22 Shell/Pennzoil team was able to keep Joey on the lead lap. After racing his way back up to sixth place and directly behind Denny on a restart, the outside line got bottled up and Joey got hit again from the rear that pretty much ended his race on a competitive side but still ended up finishing 17th the last car on the lead lap. Denny had a different outcome late in the race when he was bouncing off every wall and finishing 2 laps down in 23rd place.

Following the race Joey approached Denny’s car as Denny’s crew was dropping the window net and Joey was able to get out a few words before the 11 FedEx team crew tossed Joey around like a rag doll. I do believe Joey needs to grow a back bone, it’s like the Pocono race in 2010 when Joey tried to go after Kevin Harvick, after Harvick spun out Joey late in the race. After the race Joey parked his car next to Harvicks on pit road, and Joey got out of his car and rushed Harvick’s car but could not get close to Harvick due to the crowd of people but Joey’s father is telling Joey to go get after Harvick anyway. Joey also needs to stop taking his war of words to twitter or telling the media, like when he told the media Delana Harvick wears the fire suit in the family after the 2010 Pocono race and start taking care of his disputes on the track.

Joey needs to go and talk to his teammate “Bad” Brad Keselowski, who is not afraid of mixing it up with his competitors on the track and in the media, Bad Brad never backs down from anybody or anything, back in 2010 he mixed it up with Carl Edwards, Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch, where Brad call Kyle a Bass minus the B in drivers intros at the Bristol fall race. Brad worked through his “bad Brad” image and gained the respect of his competitors and in 2 short years won the sprint cup championship. Brad has even had his run in with Denny in the nationwide series, I do believe the Brad can help the growth of Joey Lagano. Penske racing cars are fast and the team continues to improve on every practice session and if he can start showing some toughness on the track I do believe it will lead to wins and can easily make the chase.

Why did the crew members of Denny toss Joey around, back in 2007 at Dover, Denny took out Kyle Petty and Kyle went to Denny’s car in the garage and Kyle lowered Denny’s window net and started wagging his finger in Denny’s face and then smacked down Denny’s visor on his helmet but there was no crew members tossing Kyle Petty out of the way, why? It’s about respect, Joey needs to start showing he is more than just a nice guy, and a good race car driver, and start showing he is a championship driver on a championship team and the day he grows a pair I believe he will be a contender. This sport does need feuds, any there really isn’t a great feud except for the ongoing drama between Clint Bowyer and Jeff Gordon, which will eventually re-surface in the future.

Let me know your opinion, let me know who is your favorite feud is in racing history is, let me know who you think would be involved in one of the best feuds.
